Since the beginning in 2009, Douchebags have been focused on developing the best products for convenient travel. Our bags have received massive international attention, and in 2012 our skiing bags were nominated as finalist for Innovation of the Year at the largest sporting goods trade show in the world – ISPO in Munich, Germany.
Our ski bags were developed by interviewing more than 150 skiers, snowboarders and surfers to uncover what the core user really needs from their travel gear. Further, luggage handlers, train conductors and airline companies gave their opinions on how the bag would be best suited for transportation. This process lead to five important needs to address:
Adjustment system - Making bags suitable for different gear.
Carrying system - Enabling easier handling and carrying.
Solid protection - Avoiding damaged gear.
Low weight - Relieving strain and avoiding overweight charges.
Compressible design - Minimizing needed storage space.
To fulfill these needs, the technology had to be developed. By involving award-winning product designer and ski bum Per Finne, as well as The Norwegian University of Science and Technology, the team developed a patented technology that made all of our travel gear dreams come true.
Following the success with our skiing bags, we have kept on pushing to redefine travel gear. One of our other applauded innovations is the patented hook-up system, lifting weight off human shoulders by placing it over the wheels instead. Quick attachment G-buckles on our backpacks enable easy connection to the ski bags and all our other wheeled luggage.
